Flashback Friday

maybe it's because i am so busy i am breathless most of the day
every.single.day.

maybe it's because we're getting ready to celebrate my baby's 8th birthday

maybe it's because i am not spending enough time praying or hugging my family

whatever it is
i am homesick in a way that makes my heart hurt

home reminds me of simple

sweaty kids and a slip and slide on a summer afternoon

boiled peanuts and sweet tea on the back porch

flashback to the last time my children were in my hometown
2007

she was 3 ~ he was 5

that makes my heart hurt, too ~  but the memories are oh so sweet

simple is good

Slip and slide are so fun.

We try and get back to my hometown once a year, espeically since my parents still live there. It has been nice to be able to do that.

Watching the little ones grow does make your heart hurt...:( I did a post, sort of about that yesterday.

That slip and slide picture looks exactly like my MIL's backyard in the summer when we visit them in Virginia and use their slip and slide. Brought back such fun memories. Thanks:)
If you get a chance to stop by, I am having a giveaway at my blog & the 5 moms blog today.
Hugs,
Mimi

My favorite line is "simple is good".

Time flies too quickly on the growth of our little ones. Enjoy the birthday and, I guess, we should all try to enjoy each moment more.

This makes me realize I need to put some fun back into our "we barely see each other" days and rarely make time for relaxed group fun. I don't want organized fun either...I want spontaneous. We are in desperate need of fun.

What can I do for tomorrow morning? I will create some fun with breakfast. I must come up with something. Silly hats? Maybe.
